At STEAM Glow Squad, safety is just as important as creativity.
Our kits are designed to encourage hands-on learning while promoting responsible building practices.

Please review the information below before using any STEAM Glow Squad product.

Age Recommendations

Most powered STEAM Glow Squad kits are designed for:

Ages 6+

Adult supervision is recommended for all builds involving batteries, motors, or small parts.

⚠️ Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts.

Battery Safety

Some STEAM Glow Squad kits include battery-powered components.

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Insert batteries correctly, matching the + and – symbols.

  • Use only the battery type specified in the instructions.

  • Do not mix old and new batteries.

  • Remove batteries when not in use.

  • Do not expose batteries to water, heat, or fire.

  • Do not attempt to open, puncture, or damage batteries.

  • Dispose of used batteries properly according to local guidelines.

If a battery becomes hot, swollen, or damaged, discontinue use immediately.

Electrical & Motor Components

Our kits use low-voltage components designed for educational purposes.

To ensure safe use:

  • Use only the included battery power source.

  • Do not connect components to wall outlets or higher-voltage power supplies.

  • Keep motors, wires, and connectors dry.

  • Disconnect the battery before adjusting or modifying components.

  • Keep fingers and loose clothing clear of moving or spinning parts.

Stop use immediately if any part becomes damaged.

Small Parts Warning

STEAM Glow Squad kits may contain small components such as connectors, screws, LEDs, or motor parts.

  • Small parts may present a choking hazard.

  • Do not place parts in mouth.

  • Keep away from children under 3 years of age.

Always build on a clean, flat surface to prevent losing small pieces.

Building & Use Guidelines

  • Follow the included instructions carefully.

  • Build on a stable, flat surface.

  • Keep work areas dry and well lit.

  • Store components safely after use.

  • Disconnect batteries when the project is complete.

Encourage children to test and improve their builds safely.

Engineer Responsibly

If something doesn’t work:

  1. Disconnect the battery first.

  2. Check all connections.

  3. Rebuild and test again.
